Apparently this is the second round of recalls of the product due to concerns over Listeria...how long does it normally take for the new product to make it to store shelves again after a recall like this?

I just checked this morning, no Sabra at all on the shelves yet and large red recall signs hanging in the refrigerator case.

I have been buying Boarshead brand hummus, it is very similar to Sabra in texture and flavors.

Try Tribe Hummus if it's available where you shop. I think it's the superior product anyway.

Sabra has a smoother texture than most other hummus brands. Boarshead is the only other brand of hummus that I have found that comes close.

I can't imagine why anyone would buy packaged hummus. It's so easy to make fresh hummus which is far tastier. It may even be less expensive.

Why? 'Cause Sabra hummus tastes freaking awesome, that's why! You can make it and I'm sure it's wonderful but don't rain on our Sabra parade!

I really hope it comes back soon. I love their hummus!

It's difficult to make without a food processor.

A food processor makes hummus and much more. Cuisinart's best sales penetration is in the Mideast, the home of hummus. Women there have always made their own hummus grinding the beans laboriously by hand. Many developed back problems as a result. Cuisinart changed all that forty years ago.

In the US I buy Boar's Head now .. they do not use soy oil - and you can buy individual size serving packages at a reasonable price. Alternatively, I make my own - which is better than any purchased hummus anyway. Tribes used to have a few that don't use soy but I am tired of reading so many labels trying to figure out which ones they were. In Canada, I just make my own. Haven't found a decent brand yet where I go. They stock Sabra but .. that darned soy oil thing makes it not a choice for me any more. There is really no need for ANY oil at all in hummus so I am not sure why most brands use oil anyway.
