I did eat chocolate covered grasshoppers once but that was in my youth after consuming a few shots of tequila-seemed like a good idea at the time.

I have heard grasshoppers are crunchy and taste quiet good. But, haven't tried them.....yet!

Speaking of Tequila.....did you ever eat that worm?
I did.....but don't remember.....ROTFL.....

not sure of the spelling - beloot?
it is a fertilized egg, eaten by everyone in the phillipines.
you crack the egg open, and the fetal chick is inside.
YUCK!!!!!!
sounds, smells and (I am told) it tastes as bad as it sounds.

Andrew Zimmern was at it again last night on his show Bizzare Foods (Travel Channel). His new season started last night with an episode from Beijing China and it wasn't long before he was eating some fried bugs, grasshoppers and seahorses on a stick. The guy amazes me. Next week I think he's in Iceland. I can just imagine what he'll eat there , perhaps some jellied moose tail

Him and (what's his name)....Bourdain (or something like that????
How they do that, and eat that "off the wall" stuff .....really is beyond me.....huh.
And I consider myself a pretty adventures taster, trying to taste everything at least once.
Pass on that one, though....LOL.

What gets me is the fact that these two guys don't just go out and say "hmmmmmmm, I wonder what roasted pigs eyes and spleen might taste like, maybe I'll give it a try". The stuff they eat are foods that people eat in those countries. I'm adventurous as well, but I have boundaries.
