Agreed. Still, fat has more calories per gram, and chips and other delicious snacks are WAY fatty. Yes, I know there are pretzels, but it's not the same.

I like sweet foods. I REALLY like sweet foods. But I can't have sweet foods because of weight and insulin issues. But I know that sugar substitutes come with their own set of problems. So what do I do? I avoid sweet foods. Or I have healthier sweet foods, like fruits. Or when I have sweet foods, I have very small amounts of the real stuff as an occasional treat. What I don't do is put fake chemical sweets in my body.

And you know what? It's not the end of the world.

Well, do they still sell it or has it been taken off the market? Because I'll take my chances rather than give up chips.

Eat those crunchy salty snacks in moderation or make Kale chips and salt them. I have also seen dehydrated veggies in bags. They are crunchy like potato chips try those too. Eat almonds, wasabi peas are great too and have a crunch, Ceci beans which are dried chick peas are also crispy and have some salt. But eat all of these in moderation. Stay away from fake fat it's garbage.

Last I heard, Frito Lay Lite and Pringles Fat Free were not being sold anymore, and those are the only chips I know of that were still using it.

My parents eat Popchips as a healthier substitute. popchips | home I know they're not expensive because my mom wouldn't buy them if they were.

You can also make kale chips really easily in your oven, if eating kale chips appeals to you. My kids like those seaweed sheet snacks from the dollar store, but those are pretty stinky so that limits where they can be eaten. They're salty and crispy and still not too bad for a person.

I eat lite popcorn and in-the-shell sunflower seeds which, while the latter isn't "fat free," at least make you work for those calories...

Even more reason to stay away from fake fats: they apparently can mess with your metabolism and cause you to gain/retain weight. Sorry, OP.

EXPENSIVE.
A can of chick peas (garbanzo beans) costs less than a dollar. A tiny splash of olive oil and some seasonings, and a little time in the oven ... doesn't get much cheaper than that.

Roasted seaweed is one of my favorite snacks, along with potato chips and popcorn drenched in butter.
