My 'beef' is that a chicken wing segment is referred to as a 'wing' as in "4 'wings' per order" when you are really only getting 4 wing segments, not 4 whole wings...

It's funny that you mentioned this gripe. You're going to like the place I'll tell you about. There's a restaurant in Palatine, IL called "Gators Wing Shack" that serves whole wings: drum, flat, and tip, as a single piece. Prices aren't too bad: about $12 per order of 10 wings (their definition). The wings are big; one order is enough for 2 or 3 people. Celery, sauces, and fixings are extra, though.

The wing tips are pretty nice to nibble on, if prepared correctly. I don't know why people avoid the tip part.

That's $1.20 per wing plus celery and fixings. Sounds expensive to me. 12 wings enough for 2 or 3 people?

Those wings must come from giant chicken, or you people are not very hungry eaters. My son and I each eat at least a dozen just as appetizers.

My appetite got smaller over the last 2 years. It's a blessing, I'd say. Also, those wings are big: not necessarily turkey-sized, but bigger than most chicken wings I've come to expect. Then again, I ate there for a late-night snack (it's open until 4:00 AM), rather than for dinner, so maybe I just didn't need to eat as much. And don't forget that each "wing" is a whole wing, not a segment.

does not really bother me, but of course I never thought about it that way I guess.

I can certainly understand serving 2 people, but 3, that would have to be 3 people with small appetites or huge wings.

This looks delicious! Where did you get it, and how much did it run for? I bet one wing (whole) was enough.
