I don't see the sugar as any less healthy than the hazelnuts. a calorie isn't much different from another calorie. your 2 tablespoon serving has 200 calories, that's the most important detail.
It is just too sweet for me. It is basically frosting IMHO. A few years back a woman sued this company and won a major settlement because she thought Nutella was false adverting this product as a healthy part of breakfast. Too me it is crazy people suing over stupidity Too me part of being a good knowledgeable consumer is to educate yourself with the knowledge to make good choices.

Charlie.
Yes, I joined the Nutella class action lawsuit due to its false advertising. I'm still waiting for my $25. I love Nutella, but I've always realized it isn't healthy. It's unappetizing visually, but it tastes great. Of course, I love anything sweet.
I have never even tasted Nutella....but on impulse yesterday I bought a small jar of Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter. I bought it for my DP who starts everyday with a small slice of toast with p-butter and honey. He likes chocolate and hazelnuts and almonds, so I think he will like it. It advertises that it has 50% less sugar.....(I guess than the leading spread???)

Justin's is good. I like it much better than Nutella. I must be the only person in the world who does not like Nutella. Just frosting.
I have a friend who is anti-Nutella because harvesting the palms for palm oil is destroying orangutan habitats in Asia.
Palm oil is NOT Healthy and Nutella has been around for a long time as many other foods. Then comes
a time where foodies make it on their "must" list. yawn......
I bought Justin's but I dislike it; it has a weird flavor and unpleasant texture. I wonder if I can use it to cook anything....or if I should just toss it as a bad choice.

I don't like chocolate & I don't like hazelnuts. So I don't like Nutella (I did try it years ago, too).
