We don't have them in Utah either. I've lived places that had them before, but I've never eaten in one.
Next time we go on a trip, we'll have to find one. It sounds really yummy!

ewwww....GROSS!
Why not go to a mom and pop diner for breakfast instead of a chain? Food will more likely be prepared fresh and less greasy.
Most of the Waffle Houses I have see are old and not well-kept up.

So true!
Haven't been to Waffle House in many years but boy we used to love eating breakfast there. I would definitely try to swing by. I remember a family trip to Florida where we stopped at a Waffle House at 4:30 in the morning and the place was packed!
Now, I love Bojangles BUT only for the country ham biscuits. When we lived in NC I got totally hooked on those biscuits grease and all. As soon as I hit the VA-Carolina border I start looking for those Bojangles signs.

Surely you noticed that the food is prepared in an open kitchen right before your eyes????

Yes, but they still gross me out. I have never passed a waffle house along the highway with all of their letters (usually one is missing) on their sign either! Must just be the ones along the route from Michigan to Florida

Do any of you eat at Huddle House? It's basically the same concept as Waffle House (although I prefer the waffle house).

Have done both Waffle House and Huddle House; would give Waffle House the slight edge (probably because I've eaten at more WH's. Nope, Waffle House will never be a Cracker Barrel competitor. But if you want reasonably-priced food in a down-home atmosphere, WH is it. Yes, of the dozens of WH locations I've eaten at, a few have had service & cleanliness issues. But they've definitely been in the minority. For me, there's nothing better than three scrambled eggs with a waffle and crisp bacon on the side! (Made me what I am today... )
