Here we go through oil, eggs, sugar, milk, flour, bread & cold cuts like there's no tomorrow. Fortunately I can get all of it except cold cuts and milk for less than $2! I could get cold cuts for less than $2 but then it would be such small amounts that it wouldn't be worth it.
Funny thing is, though, that the list was totally different back when our kids were living at home.
When the son was resident here, what we went through the fastest was meat and carbohydrates. That kid could put away half of a chicken and a couple of potatoes at supper, then I'd find him investigating the fridge for leftovers at midnight.
When the daughter lived here, we went through a lot more chicken, pasta sauce and pasta than we do now. She never consumed the volumes that her brother did as a teen, but we could count on her to make regular steady inroads on the Italian-based contents of the pantry.
