The husband had cabernet braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. I had pan seared haddock with roasted apples, butternut, potatoes, etc. The ten year old had pork belly tacos and the five year chicken fingers. The five year old's taste in food is the bane of my existence. Not really but it's a head scratcher in our house. I had a Wachusett Country Pale Ale to drink. It was all really good.
We went home and sang happy birthday over a candlit mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. No one, even the five year old, eats cake in our family.
can't rep you so I will simply say: sounds like a great way to celebrate a birthday; as for cake, we too are not cake eaters.

The new freezer comes sometime today so I will be able to take everything out of the old one, rearrange everything and stop eating left overs for a few days. We are having left over Lasagna tonight. And yes, as usually a green salad.

Debsi: know what you mean about ham; I love it, but too much of anything can get boring but split pea soup is a great way to end the love affair with a ham.

Tonight potato cheese pierogi with caramelized onions, black pepper, thick yogurt and a green salad. To drink lemon water and afterwards a Schnapps for digestion. For dessert I found an interesting cake recipe called pink grapefruit yogurt cake served with a cup of coffee.

Tonight is ski team practice so tentatively dinner for me will be red grapes, feta cheese and peach seltzer to drink. I'll eat in the lodge while my son is out with the team. Unfortunately I say tentatively because today's weather is horrible for skiing. Today's high is 55f (about 13c)!! Yesterday was almost as warm. They did cancel practices last year because of weather like this.
If they cancel then I think I will make tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Happy Thursday!
