Visited a friend in Monterey earlier, so decided to eat dinner at one of my favorite delicatessans there.
Enjoyed a large roast beef sandwich. Drank a Coca Cola (breaking a long "consecutive dinners with a beer" streak ). Raspberries with yogurt for dessert when I got home.
another beautiful AR day ahead of us. Our summer has been unbelievable; only a few days even in the 90s and not fall is just 4 weeks away. We have to get all the grilling in we can. So, today it a huge London Broil, basic salad and broccoli. I think we will have grilled potatoes also. Sunday dinner is always bigger than the rest of the week. I guess I am still old fashion or maybe just old.
last night was roasted chicken thighs, corn on the cob (the best I've had this season, omg sooo good), fresh tomato wedges, and okra. Too full for dessert.
Tonight will probably be the same, with roma beans instead of okra
We are having a cook out on this glorious day. I have goat cheese with lavender, goat cheese with jalapenos, a really y nice blue cheese, sliced figs and honey to drizzle with baguette slices and crackers for appetizers. We have a lovely garden salad, corn on the cob, a lebanese rice pilaf with golden raisins, and beef, lamb and chicken shiish kabobs. Dessert is a fruit salad with a lemon cinnamon syrup. Also one of the guests is bringing a cake
It's dark and rainy, so a good soup day. I'm making loaded broccoli and cheese soup again. I've made it several times and we really love it. I skip the bacon just because it's extra calories that we don't need and I'm lazy. And I add more potatoes, broccoli and carrots than the recipe calls for just to make more volume, and the two of us eat it for several days. Instead of onion powder, I add diced onion. I don't have any celery today, but I'm going to try adding celery next time.
Grilled beef ribs, and other stuff that doesn't matter.
