Tonight will be hot dogs and watermelon. I just want to get something solid in the kids' stomach before trick or treating. I foolishly bought Skor bars to give out. I am going to try really hard not to eat them.

Have a wonderfully scary Halloween everyone!

I think I’ll thaw the extra meatloaf for dinner, make some mashed potatoes and a veg. Maybe whip up some brownies.

I found some chili with beans in the freezer and ate huge bowls of that for 3 meals in a row so it's time for something else, for sure.

Guess I have to go to the grocery store. It'll probably be sauteed chicken breast tonight with steamed vegetables.

Tonight we are having smothered turkey wings over rice and gravy, roasted Parmesan-garlic green beans, buttermilk biscuits and iced caramel apple cookies for dessert.

MAGICSHARK - I wish my daughter was still young enough to take trick-or-treating! I miss that. Sadly, we are in a condo and won't get any little ones but I decorated my house and office anyway. Halloween will always be one of my favorite holidays.

Now that the SO also has my cold, am thinking of something warm and filling and spicy (for our sinuses) plus have half a kabocha squash left over - soooo it will probably be pumpkin curry with a side of chicken. Over brown rice.

Here is the recipe, it is fast becoming a new favorite:

(the thought of handling trick or treaters feels daunting, I guess we will be reduced to pouring candy into a pumpkin out at the front gate)...
