1. Bob Evans mashed potatoes (in the refrigerated section)
I'm very picky about mashed potatoes; these are really good! A nice surprise.

2. Little Debbie Cinnamon Streusel - Got a pack at convenience store - yummy. Went back next day and got several more packs.

3. Lay's Salt & Vinegar and also Dill Pickle potato chips - I inly get a small bag, just enough to satisfy my craving (flavor is strong), but they're good.

Turnips. Never ate them in my almost 47 years on this Earth lol...made a French lamb stew the other night that called for turnips. To me they smell like onions and radishes, both of which I like. I was pleasantly surprised!

I'll eat turnips raw but detest them cooked!

Mine would be brussel sprouts. I've avoided them my entire adult life. The past couple of years I've come to love them!

Really? To me they have a unique aroma, but I've never noticed any hint of onion. They definitely add a sweetness to soups and stews.

Sweetbreads. They were in a puff pastry on a fancy buffet I tried several years ago before the labels were put up. Had taken them thinking they were something else, found out what they were when I went back for another plateful. And they were good. Not something I've felt the need to order again, but not a bad dish at all.

I'm glad that you enjoyed them. I will never try them for the simple reason that my father lied to me 40 years ago: We were at a restaurant, they were on the menu, I wanted them. (There was no description of what they were, but bread has always been my favorite food group. ) Anyway, my father told me to order something else, I argued that I wanted them (like any bread-loving 11-year old with her Daddy does), and then he told me the lie: "You don't want them. They're brains." And that was that. So even if I should happen upon them again, "they're brains" is stuck in MY brain, and... yeah. I'll never try them.

Soft shell crabs....my daddy used to fry them up and put them between 2 pieces of bread. It looked like he was eating a spider sandwich! Ummm, no thanks! THEN, I went to a friend's restaurant and he heard I didn't like them and thought I was CRAY-ZEE...and he was right. I tried one and they are delicious! Slap ya mama good!

Maybe they picked up the onion aroma from the cutting board when I was cutting up the veggies lol...but I would definitely add them to stews again
