Ok...here's the scenario - I was going to make chicken fried steak - I called DD earlier and told her to take out the cube steak - she took out stew pieces! They are not thawed enough - and obviously neither is the cube steak...I also have chicken cutlets...again ...not thawed. The potatoes are already on the stove ready to be made! What should I do?

Throw the chicken in the micro and defrost. Set oven to 350. Put chicken in pan pour italian salad dressing over it. Bake for about 30 min.

Oh I knew it would be one of my friends to my rescue! I've defrosted chicken before, but it always cooks a bit - is that a problem...it always makes me nervous

Turn those potatoes into home fries, make yourself some great omelets, pour a little juice, a cup of coffee and maybe some homemade biscuits, or just some toast and have "Breakfast for Dinner" ... a fave around my house every once in a while!

Bon Apetit

Ooo---Italian dressing! that's my in-a-pinch recipe too! I also like to put a little of the dressing in the mashed potatos.

I also like to mix honey and mustard together and pour over the chicken to bake.

Shouldn't be. Just watch them really close. Also after 30 min baking, check a piece and make sure they are cooked through. Good luck.

OK ... then take the cube steak out of the freezer and use a meat tenderizer to pound the $#!& out of them (which will also defrost them) and go enjoy the Chicken Fried Steak!

thanks everyone - I really appreciate the advice!

I went to the cabinets to see what I have.....all I have is creamy italian dressing and I don't think I'd like that much....Here's what I'm thinking...I can cook the cutlets in lemon juice with some garlic and paprika - or I can cook them in a chicken broth with the same.....it'll have to be one of those lol

Thanks again!
