my mother in law might be brining some of her arroz con pollo.

i am thinking of baking a cake. my aunt me be unhappy about it but i got approval from my old man.

my aunts generally provide most of the food, but their food stinks.

im also considering bringing some bottles of coquito. its what the puerto ricans drink instead of egg nog. its made with sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, some water, some rum, cinnemon and vanilla. its yummy!

I won't get to do an Easter dinner this year. I'll be traveling on Easter Sunday. I'm so sad, because I want ham and deviled eggs!

On Good Friday we always have fish.

On Easter Sunday it is always something special, and I have not decided yet, but I can tell you it is usually a lot of food!

Also, around Easter we always have Colomba Pasquale.

Passover for us. Sister's doing I think chicken a l'orange.
We're tag-teaming the angel food cake; I'm making dad's chocolate mousse, which usually ends up semi-liquid, and just happens to make an incredible cake frosting.

I am also the designated charoses-maker cause ain't nobody does it better than me (the secret - drink generously from the Manachewitz before, during, and after grating the apples )

Sister will also make the vegetable; hopefully her asparagus with garlic oil and tamari. I think she's also doing a small pot of tsimmis, which will consist more of the sweet potatos and dried apricots than meat.

And of course, the obligatory pot of chicken soup with knedelach. That's sister's domain; in 20 years of marriage I have never learned how to make a decent chicken soup.

Passover menu? Whatever our friend Sandy is making!

I don't have a menu planned yet....

But I have an extra corned beef in the freezer that I picked up around St Patrick's day and I might just cook that up....it's kind of ham-like. I wonder if it would go with our colored eggs, though.
