The canned ones aren't bad but you have to boil them for at least two more hours. Keep adding water.

When I lived in Sarasota they were the only ones I could find so I figured out a way to make them taste good. Also, add cayenne pepper.

That is about 700+ calories per day from just peanuts. That is kind of a lot of calories coming from a single food source. As long as you are not gaining weight and otherwise eat a diverse diet with a lot of nutrients, it may be ok, but if that is in addition to a low nutrient, high calorie diet, you will put on the pounds.

Default What do boiled peanuts taste like?

I've never had them, but I'm a big peanut fan.

Love boiled peanuts, but they have to be cajun! The vegetable stand down the street always has a couple slow cookers going full of peanuts.

I love them. They are briny and and softer than a regular peanut. There are two types that I have had - spicy (hot) and not spicy - salty and flavorful.

Me? I love both.

They're typically boiled in the shell with a LOT of salt, so sodium could be a concern. In my years living down south I never tried them because, well, they didn't sound very appealing to me.

By the way, aflatoxins are also found in corn, too. I figure none of us is getting out of this alive, so eh, what the heck; I eat what I like, including peanuts and corn. 2 lbs a week is nearly 5 ounces of peanuts a day, which seems like a lot, though.
