Celery. It's overwhelming and overpowering

Toast, I don't get the point of having a nice soft fluffy piece of bread and then charring it into oblivion

American cheese

Well-done steak, what is the point of having a nice fresh slice of meat and then reducing it into cardboard texture

American Chinese food, far too sweet.

Boiled alive critters such as crabs or lobsters.

But I'll bet you don't have a problem with stepping on a roach or spider or using insecticides to kill those nasty bugs around the house. They're all Arthropods.

So interesting how subjective foods are. I normally think I like everything, but reading these responses reminds me of foods I either don't like or just can't get excited about:

Indian food.
Cajin food
tofu
egg plant
head cheese for sure
hummus but I have had a few kinds recently that have enough flavor to get over the texture.

I am amazed at the number of people who do not like Cilantro. And a few who mention American cheese. No, not a favorite but nothing to dislike about it in my opinion. This is why i say, food is subjective.

Any foods that are popular you just can't get into? Or highly recommended by friends/family but you can't stomach?

Who hates steak and cake?! Sorry, but I have never in my life heard of anyone who hates these two foods!

Well, maybe the poster isn't talking about the things welfare or rights, but maybe the taste or the look of em?

Seafood in general with the exception of canned tuna. Went many years hearing how good this variety of (expensive) food was. Finally decided to overcome my repulsion and taste different things. Shrimp with cocktail sauce was the worst thing I ever tasted! Found out I also hate horseradish! Lobster was so-so, fish & scallops were a no. I know I'm in a tiny minority when it comes to not liking seafood. Also, mustard, sushi, Brie, hummus.
