You're exaggerating. A lot.

Yeah, they really overdo the pumpkin thing, but after Halloween it will all be over and they'll start stocking their wonderful Gingerbread mix.

Why wouldn't they overdo the pumpkin thing? It's what sells nowadays. People are pumpkin spice obsessed. And for those non pumpkin / pumpkin spice lovers, they still sell thousands of items without those flavors for you to choose from.

I look forward to these cookies every year: Candy Cane Joe-Joe's Are Back! | L.A. Weekly

Yes, saying everything in the store is pumpkin-spice flavored is a huge exaggeration. Right now those items are highlighted and noticeable, but I do most of my grocery shopping at TJs year-round and the vast majority is just normal food.

I forgot to mention the apple cider jam. My kids loved it.

I avoid Trader Joe's and Starbucks from Labor Day to Thanksgiving. What in the name of **** did we need Pumpkin Spice Season for?

I'm not a pumpkin or pumpkin spice fan . Heck, I don't really care for any of the squash family. And I don't want those pumpkin spices messing my my cookies, apple pie, biscotti, ice cream or rum (as in Captain Morgans).

The biggest food love at holiday time goes to (ta-da!) ALDI. Frozen Maple Leaf whole duck at $2.49 per pound. I've got give of them in my freezer.

I can't imagine apple pie without some combination of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and clove.

Yikes!

I can't even begin to imagine how bad their pumpkin-flavored Italian sausage must be.
I also would not want to try their pumpkin-flavored Porcini mushrooms, or their pumpkin-flavored Cod fillets, or their pumpkin-flavored olive oil, or their pumpkin-flavored fresh mozzarella, or their pumpkin-flavored salad greens, or their pumpkin-flavored Bordeaux.

I was about to post an "I walked through an urban Trader Joe's last week and didn't see anything I wanted to buy". Then I saw this.

I kind of like the goat cheese log covered in berries. Cranberry or blueberry. I forget which. That's not seasonal.
