Speaking of deep fried turkey , the first year my brother did this and I'm talking 15 yrs ago , he set his garage on fire . The fire department was there within minutes thank god because the garage would have been gone . But all was not lost we went to a restaurant for dinner and then came home and ate pie until we were busting at the seems LOL . Sadly we did not know at the time that this would be our last thanksgiving with him , he died the following year from cancer of the liver . No one knew he had it until it was too late . I miss those days and him and his wife (sadly she remarried and moved away with her kids ,) . But anyways I will bring to the table green bean casserole only made with cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom , because some of my family is allergic to mushrooms .

I will bring my own recipe chestnut sausage stuffing. I guess you’d call it dressing, since it will be self contained, not stuffed!

"You betcha" she said in her native Minnesotan.

I can just hear it now. "That's you? It doesn't look like you?"

More pie, anyone?

Well, since I have a picture in my profile, I think you'll recognize me. Of course, I'd be happy to hear, "You're so much better looking in person!"

Anybody bringing hot rolls? I'll volunteer.

Flowers and gourds for table decoration & centerpieces. I use low long dishes (my mom's crystal "celery dish" at home; Dollar Store "crystal" when traveling) and cut off stems from seasonal color mums & white carnations. Flowers just barely float in a row. Easy & colorful!

I will bring Chocolate Rum Balls covered in jimmies, piled into a pyramid on a footed crystal plate. Rich and sinfully decadent.

Also a homemade pecan pie (extra pecans), because it ain't TurkeyDay without one.

Late to join this thread, but this is exactly what I'm bringing for real. Plated salad: The best fresh tomatoes I can find (probably campari but maybe multi colored cocktail ones from costco), fresh basil, wedge of burrata, a bit of prosciutto on the side, a few skillet roasted shi****o peppers, sea salt and olive oil. And with any luck some very sweet cantaloupe.

I do the casserole per the recipe on the can. It needs karo and brown sugar. The peeps go on afterwards.

OMG I love this. We need to be besties If you tell me that Halloween is your favorite holiday it's a done deal.

I'm bring my home made sage sausage stuffing. I make my own bread cubes with a loaf of whole wheat bread. I also put an apple in it along with the celery and onion. I fry the sausage, onion, and celery all together and pour it over the bread cubes. Then I cut up the apple and add it raw. I'll crack and egg and mix it all together and bake it in an iron skillet. You can use whatever seasonings you like and I'll add a little more sage.

Haven't had it but am willing to try!

Yasss! I'm just full of demands today - can you bring some butter cakes too? (Maybe including a couple I can pack up and take home for my friend?)
Here is a very good authentic Philadelphia butter cake recipe. I bake it in two 8"x 8" pans. It's an easy recipe and freezes well.

I will bring Swedish Cardamom bread and German butter horn cookies for our feast.
