My father thought it would be a "treat" to cook frog's legs for me when I was a child. A huge bull frog crossed the road in front of us while we were driving, so he pulled over so we could catch it. I had no idea why were chasing the poor frog, but went along with it. Then after we caught it, he explained to me that he was going to show me what frog's legs tasted like. He'd grown up on a farm in Oklahoma, and I guess had eaten a few growing up. I didn't care for it, and it did taste like chicken.

Ain't ever'body figured out by now that EVERTHING, from frog legs to rattlesnake to armadiller and fried fire ants, "tastes like chicken"?

Now, HERE is my story to the thread..

About ten years ago, me and an ex met with a good friend and his wife in Dallas. We were in a "bar and grill" called "Gators" and I ordered a plate of "gator toes" I had had them before and yeah, they tasted like "chicken." Spicy chicken, but chicken...

The wife asked me, she asked "Randy, what do these things taste like...?' I said, "chicken."

She rolled her eyes and retorted that "EVERYTHING tastes like chicken....oh yeah, right..."

"I aint gonna agrue with you, hon...eat em and tell me..."

She ate a few, and I asked her back..."What do the they taste like?

"Ok...chicken..."

SHE said that, I didn't...dammit!

Frog legs would be a slightly different delicacy. They might have a chicken-like feel to it, but, no, they don't taste like chicken. There's that middle ground between seafood and chicken, and it leans a little toward the swamp.

The only reason why frogs might have a fish like flavor is because they absorb it from the water they live in.
