Cream of wheat was just so so, until I discovered that mixing it with canned pumpkin and adding some real butter and maple syrup took it up a few notches. Cream of wheat is also great in savory dishes with stuff like cheese, eggs, peas, onion, etc.

I’ll try pumpkin! I have used CoW (I call it farina) as a side dish with butter and just a small wisp of curry powder when I make an Indian entree.
I grew up eatting CoW too, so I love it. I have just tried grits, living in Florida now, and I see no difference. I love them too. A touch of sugar and cream, yum.
I love Cream of Wheat! Actually grew up on the Farina brand. Just had some CoW last week. I like mine plain, with just a small pinch of salt added when cooking, and eaten with milk poured on top.
I also like oatmeal, cooked the same way, with just a tiny pinch of salt, and eaten the same way.
I just like my cereals plain - no sugar added. That's how I was raised and it stuck with me, I guess!
Don't put ketchup on your scrambled eggs in the South, the waitress will have apoplexy.
When out for breakfast, I usually order sunny side up (over easy) eggs, and just splash a little Tabasco on them. However, if I make scrambled eggs at home I do usually put ketchup on them, but it is in the privacy of my home.
I had a cousin who used to put ketchup on pancakes. Now THAT is sacrilegious!
Dad used to make it for breakfast for me. Comfort food!
I eat it the same way picklejuice and K of A like it along with some buttered toast.
Fried eggs with ketchup, not scrambled. Break the yolk and squash that sucker flat!
What were you, born in a barn?
