Tonight it is food delivered to the house. We leave early Wed morning so the fridge is pretty much empty Our travel agent gave us 2 free meals delivered to our house as a thank you gift for booking with her. They will be delivered this afternoon, fully cooked. Tonight it is bar be cued chicken, cold slaw and sweet potato fries. All we will add is a little bit of left over broccoli. It's been a while since I commented on here, and here I am reading everyone's great food ideas. Now I'm hungry!! So here's mine...
Dinner tonight is some chuck steak marinaded in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, white pepper and salt, oh and some oyster sauce too for good measure. I put it in the fridge last night, so it should be all flavoured and amazing by the time I get home. Then it's going to be fried off with some onions and green beans, then served over fluffy rice.

Homemade red sauce with beef, herbs, peppers and onions on homemade tarragon fettucine.
Caesar salad
French bread with garlic herb butter
Homemade hot fudge sundaes with whipped cream and nuts.

We're having guests tonight. I set the table with pretty red and green woven placemats and a matching antique ironstone bowl filled with Granny Smith apples.

I got out the handy dandy iron skillet and braised some thin cut bottom round.

Got out the onions sliced and diced to add.

Took a can of organic chicken soup and added it to the simmering mix.

Coarse ground pepper, no salt,

Simmered for about 2 hrs plus

Ladled over pasta.

Yes, it was a carnivore, carbo delight! For about a dollar a serving. Amazing what you can find at the clearance rack!

It is sunny here, the birds are singing, I smell fresh grass mowed, It IS FINALLY SPRING!
