How did you like the salmon? My favorite thing at BJ's is their root beer made in house.

Tonight will be the thai I was supposed to make yesterday. I made homemade gluten free pumpkin muffins last night and was gone most the evening so ended up eating a frozen Amy's dinner.

When he got up this morning DH put a six pound pork shoulder in the slow cooker. I took it out at noon and am using it to make pork and sauerkraut soup. Have the sliced carrots, diced potatoes, chopped onions and sliced mushrooms in the broth now with spices and seasonings.

I just dumped the ingredients for onion bread into the bread maker to knead for me. I'll form it and bake it in the oven. It's heaven to have a machine to do the kneading.

I haven't anything for dessert and it probably won't be necessary but it's definitely time again to bake a pie or bars.

Today, comfort food ... slow-cooker London broil beef ...

I used a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of beefy mushroom soup in the slow cooker with the London broil shoulder steak -- not gourmet at all but the soups make VERY tasty gravy for the mashed potatoes. (None of my usual veggies today, I'm afraid ... just not in the mood.)

OK, if you think THAT dinner was a bit TOO "comfort-y" (is that a word? ), this is what I had for "dinner" a couple of days ago ...

Yep, chocolate chip cookies. Alas, I'm not in the happiest of places these days -- just too much going on on the work and family and house fronts, and I lost a 45-year-old colleague to cancer last week. Hoping for better days ...

Tomorrow night is Mediterranean chicken and olives sans potato, with a side of arugula and broccoli.
