I bought a big turkey roasting pan and when I had nowhere to put it, my H says just put it in the oven for now. Visions of very bad things went through my mind, kind of like your life flashing before your eyes, but we had a lot of groceries to deal with and no surface area, so I did it.

I come in from raking and the house reeks of burned glue because he turned the oven on and that pan had a paper label stuck on with that clear stuff that just peels off like magic, super easy, provided you don't cook it in a 400 degree oven first.

So of course the question is now that it's been cooked in a 400 degree oven and is no longer clear, more like brown, and it cooled and I pulled off what I could, how do I get the rest out from in between the letters impressed in the bottom of the tin. I need to make gravy out of those drippings so no solvents unless they're edible.

Try some type of cooking/salad oil such as coconut oil, olive oil, or even shortening or butter and scrape it with a plastic utensil of some sort. Good luck!

Try heating it up and you might be able to get the rest out or line it with a couple of layers of aluminum foil and don't worry about getting the rest out.

I don't think you want those petro fumes circulating in the oven with your turkey.

Take cheap vegetable oil and pour it on baked on glue. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then take a hair dryer to it. That should soften up the gunk so you can scrap it off.

OK, so the consensus is oil and heat. I'll try, and the first chemical whiff - well, I don't know what I'll do.

Thanks, everyone.
