After searching Google images to learn the difference between flats versus drums, I do declare that I love the FLATS, due to their superior flavor, and only tolerate the DRUMS.
The place that has the best wings, here, doesn't separate the flat from the drumette. You just get the whole thing. They're awesome.
That is pretty much how we like them, but when I do my own, usually the drums are what we buy. Not because we favor them, but because the chicken stores here and we have a lot of chicken stores from Tyson's to almost any you can think of, sell them in large packages that way. Yes, we are the chicken capitol of the world I think or darn close.
I prefer drum. More meat and you don't have to try to get the meat out from between the bones. Plus the flat has a higher skin to meat ratio and I prefer more meat than skin. Unfortunately, both my husband and I prefer the drums!
But I like LITTLE drums. I don't like those giant chicken wings that look like they came from a Chernobyl chicken. Just give me wings from a normal sized chicken, please.
Drugs definitely. The flats are much tougher to get meat out of.
