You always see vinegar (red/balsamic) stored in dark or green glass bottles. Is this required if you are bottling for home use? We produce wine with a group of friends and have vinegar to bottle and take home. If we keep it in a cool, dark area of the basement will a clear bottle suffice or should I really search for green ones?
If you (always!) keep them in dark, then color of the bottle doesn't matter. But aren't you going to use it later on for salads or cooking? It will deteriorate when out of dark and in your kitchen... https://www.kitchensanity.com/food/d...inegar-go-bad/,

What if in the kitchen it is stored in the fridge or cabinet and only exposed when open? It's not something we would leave on the counter. Essentially I'm trying to determine if a 12oz or 750ml bottle is more appropriate.
