You know, if the veggies are fresh, I do find them flavorful. Not as flavorful as if they had been grown in my own garden, and harvested right before supper, but flavorful enough for me. Some veggies do seem to be less flavorful than they used to be, such as green beans. And the avocados I'm getting now seem to have almost no flavor. But the brassicas are flavorful. And I've learned to like baby kale in my salads, and that pumps up the flavor of the greens.

I did a stir fry tonight with sliced carrots, celery, onion, broccoli florets and ginger, and the flavor was quite good. The stir fry had a little leftover steak in it that had been sliced them and marinated before being stir fried.

It is possible that some people really don't have a taste for veggies. Perhaps our tastes evolve over time, or perhaps some of us aren't born with the same tastes as others. I am speaking of taste literally--our taste buds.

But, honestly, a fresh carrot seems sweet and pleasantly crisp to me. So does a wedge of fresh cabbage. The key is freshness.

That's very true: tastes do evolve. And adults generally like vegetables more than kids do. I myself refused or picked off vegetable toppings on my pizza until I was 22. Although for the most part, I didn't have issues with eating vegetables as a kid. I drenched the cooked ones in ketchup, though. Today, I use sauces and seasonings.

C'mon. There are always frozen vegetables, most likely even more nutritious than many fresh offerings because they're harvested at their peak and frozen immediately.

BTW, I've never encountered a tasteless bell pepper. Methinks some people simply prefer the taste of candy to that of vegetables.
