Sounds like a troll post because soy milk from grains are even more likely to spoil quicker. Bacteria and germs love grains. The only reason soy milk doesn't spoil as quickly because companies put preservatives to prevent it from changing to miso paste. If given yeast to accelerate the bacteria growth it becomes soy sauce eventually.

I buy a brand of milk that has a 6-8 week shelf-life, but once I open it, all bets are off. I always write the "opened" date on the cap so that I know when to start sniffing before I pour.

If you don't use milk very quickly, buy ultra pasteurized.

This happens to me a lot! I wonder why. Maybe we don't drink it fast enough

I keep mine on the top shelf. Never in the door of the fridge.
Don’t like almond milk.
I’m a female.

What temp is your refrigerator? Do you have a thermometer? It's also possible it got taken from the refrigerator case at the store and then put back...lots of things. I buy the gallon with the date furthest out - and keep my fridge at 34 degrees - milk lasts several days past the date.

Years ago I had that happen with some whipping cream - opened it up and it poured out in chunks!! Nasty and I was ticked I had to go back to the store before I could make my homemade ice cream - but why would I give up dairy products? Makes no sense.

I buy locally produced milk with no additives and keep it on the lower shelf. I've never had any problems with it spoiling before the date on the container, which is usually about 13 days out.

Well, if you like almond milk then drink that.

Otherwise, I was always under the assumption that dairy was supposed to be good 7 days past the date on the package.

BUT, if you drink from the container, the bacteria from your mouth will turn it faster.

In general it does. But my last half gallon did not make it to the expiration date.

My theory is that it sat out of refrigeration for some time in the supply chain.
