Am looking to stock my pantry with some new spice mixes (for chicken, fish, burgers etc.). Do you have any faves? Especially one that goes well with all foods?
I have heard great things about this, but never tried it. Has anyone here tried it?
Blah! I cook from scratch all the time. I have no problem using spice mixes on occasion. No need to call us lazy. That's just not nice!
Anywho I like Montreal steak seasoning, also they make a brown sugar bourbon one I like. I am a big fan of Full Circle garlic and chili pepper grinder. For fish and chicken I like Old Bay.
I keep a herbes de Provence and a garam masala around. One we always make ourselves is ras el hanout. That takes a lot of different spices so for most I would recommend buying it premade.

I have the Montreal Steak seasoning (a gift) and the bottle label says:
Salt
Garlic
Black Pepper
Onion
Paprika
So McCormick has found a way to sell what is mostly salt and pepper for $15 a pound.
