I came across a post from someone who ordered a cake from a website and I couldn't believe they actually paid money for it. I went to the website and lo and behold, there it was, along with many others.
The cakes are amateurish in appearance, but maybe they taste good. In any event, the baker is not charging outrageous prices for them; they are actually quite reasonably priced, even after converting from pounds to dollars. I can see how someone might take a chance on one of those cakes if they weren't able to make what they wanted themselves and didn't want to pay the price for a cake from a more professional baker.
I have to say that every one of those cakes looks better than the same cake would if I had tried to make and decorate it.

The text on that page says that this person is someone with kids. Based on the pictures I was hoping that this was a business run *by* kids. I guess if you want to pay money for a cake that looks worse than if you did it yourself, go forth.
To answer the question, would I order from this place? No. The cakes look very amateurish, almost like something a kid would make. They are not worth the money. I could make these at home, easily.
My cakes are very home-made. They look home-made and they taste home-made. I don’t do piping in a swirly pattern or modelling with sugar paste. I make them in my kitchen with ingredients from the local shops.
But if they taste good, then the prices are cheap enough that I'd order one for my family - not for a big party or an office event or something where the expectation is for it to look good as well as taste good. But instead of baking from scratch myself? Yeah I would try it. But I would stick with something not terribly ambitious as far as decoration such as the chocolate marble cake on this page
