We always have meals planned, but sometimes neither one of us feels like cooking so we order out or go out. There is always some kind of ice cream or gelato in one of our freezers, just in case.

What do you eat on those nights?
Is ice cream acceptable ?
I'm 50, and personally try breakfast foods sometimes on those rare occasions. Usually, though, it comes out far less appealing than I thought. Dunno why; I prefer my eggs and bacon first thing, not last meal.

SO: my final go-to is teriyaki from one of several good takeout within a few miles. I don't mind getting in a car, I live in suburbia. White chicken, extra spicy, and a couple egg rolls on white rice. Love my spices.

Last option if I'm stuck in the house, though is peanut butter, Adam's natural, on an apple if I must. Some proteins. A protein shake is a last resort, too, though not appetizing (but filling).

Ice cream is ALWAYS acceptable.

I've started making street tacos whenever I'm feeling "meh" about what I want to eat. I use the tiny corn tortillas, a little single serving container of guac, some cotija crumbles and my current meat of choice with a little lime. SOmetimes I grill a scallion to put in it.

If I'm even too lazy to cut up vegetables and cheese (my go-to snack or light meal), or if I want something heartier, I heat up soup. I know canned soup isn't the healthiest thing out there at all, but it is super fast, easy, and I usually add frozen or fresh vegetables to it to make it better.

For me, good bread and good cheese are always on hand and that's always my go-to. It also happens to be always tempting.

Yes...always involves cheese, I live for it.

Amen. If out of those, peanut butter toast.

Oh corn tortillas! I miss you so much! I am so sick of white rice and fried plantains.

haha! No, not for me. I don't usually eat sweets until I eat "real" food first, then I can have my junk.

When I don't feel like eating, I drink water and force myself to eat some nuts and/or cheese. Or maybe a peanut butter & banana protein shake.

I was like that last week. I had oatmeal with a peach sliced up in it. Then, a piece of cold chicken. I like eating like that in the summer.
