We use a local service called Delivery Dudes but also have all the other ones.

Love it! It is so convenient.

I use shipt for groceries, Amazon Prime for everything else, and Delivery Dudes for delivery, I seldom have to use my car.

I just started using Door Dash and have free delivery for the first 30 days. I have used it twice and like it so far. The food was hot, tasted good, and the delivery person was really nice. I will most likely keep using it on those occasions that it makes sense.… and I will always be sure to tip my delivery person

We have probably seen plugs for a dozen different food delivery services and that is the biggest problem I have with it. Not so much when you live in an area a long time and only order from home, but when you order from multiple locations (home, work, friends, etc.) it is cumbersome to know what service is available where and manage multiple accounts.

Have you ever have pizza delivered? Really, this isn’t any different than pizza delivery, which has been going on for decades.

Are you having them select your groceries for you? I will never allow someone else to do that for me. I actually enjoy going to grocery stores, wholesale places and farmers markets. You might find something you would have never thought or heard of. I would never have known that some local Asian markets carry live dungeness crab or geoduck, or that the local Restaurant Depot (Davie and Pompano) carry uni and sacks of crawfish when in season, if I didn't go to them.

I also enjoy my grocery store trips. But I'm retired, with time on my hands. I can see how a time-challenged younger person might love the convenience of home delivery.

I can see the trepidation. Pizza delivery is the pizza restaurant bringing food to you. Places like Door Dash or Uber Eats is a third party picking up the food for you.

That said, I dont share that trepidation. My daughter uses Uber Eats all the time to have food delivered to her at high school. She thinks it is the greatest thing ever and I just use a credit card to pay for it that doesnt get used for anything else.

No I actually don't have pizza delivered. I live in an area where its a 2-5 minute drive to many different restaurants - pizza, ethnic (Chinese, Indian, Greek, Vietnamese, Japanese), fast casual, upscale steakhouse, fast food, etc. - so its easier for me to either go out to eat or order take-out and bring it home. Due to where I live, restaurant delivery is just paying extra to get my food slower than I can get it myself. I prefer to save the money and the time.

OMG - we have a millenial here at work who is addicted to Grubhub.... Everyday he calls them.... I love hearing him say how "frugal' he is... yet yesterday he called them for a CHICK-FIL-A Sandwich.... like $4?? cost him $ 12 for the delivery fee.... instead of getting off his A$$ and driving the 2 miles down the road and getting it himself.... $ 16 plus tip (though he's the type not to tip).

Meanwhile he earned $20 in the time it would have taken.
