You really CAN still find a lot of these items for sale on "old-fashioned" or "nostalgic" candy sites and even in some specialty stores. Thank goodness!

Anyone remember those little marshmallow ice cream cones? My grandmother would sneak us a quarter, and we'd go wild at the little store across the street. Red licorice shoelaces, buttons on paper, wax soda bottles. Ah, the good old days! I'm old.

I remember those items mostly being found at Little League field concession stands.

Pepperidge Farm Geneva cookies.

A thin shortbread-type wafer, thickly coated on one side with dark chocolate, with sugar crystals embedded in it.

Haven't seen them since the 1970s. Now PF has some other cookie out with that name, but not much resemblance to a real Geneva cookie.

Before the microwave we had Jiffy Pop popcorn. It disappeared as everyone got a microwave on their kitchen counter.

Available in just about every little rural mom-and-pop grocery/convenience store in the northwest, especially if there are campgrounds or a resort nearby!

Yes, I completely forgot about the lemon pies, loved those too.

I bought some Twinkies and Ding Dongs a while back, and those are really
lacking also. Hostess is another company whose products have gone downhill.

Hostess products, especially the twin pack cupcakes, are also worse now than back in the 70s. And chocadiles, do they even make those anymore?

I remember those. You can still get them, a specialty candy shop by my house sells a lot of nostalgic candies. I remember circus peanuts too. Love them. I can still buy them but I haven't had them in about 10 years.
