I found myself thinking yesterday, that in a few weeks I would be making chili. Iíd pull out the Instant Pot and make broth, and soup, and stew. And applesauce with fresh new crop apples.

I donít want any of that in this heat.

Are there any dishes you are looking forward to making when the weather turns cool?

I'm looking forward to be able to use the oven again in general. I enjoy baking some pasta dishes and of course cookies.

I love making hearty stews, gumbos, and chili during the winter season, but I have to say that one of the beauties of the instant pot is being able to make some dishes that would normally require the oven in less time and without the heat. I made chicken with 40 cloves of garlic this week in the IP and it was phenomenal! I'm not waiting for it to cool down before I make it again.

Considering I live where it doesn't get cold, ever, I still cook chili and stews and use my oven.

I hate winter, but love the smell of a turkey in the oven, or a roast beef....watching football of course

I'm looking forward to chili and chicken soup. I've been using the oven, which I find nowhere near as bad as a big pot of something steaming the place up even more. At least the oven is dry heat, something we don't get much of here.

Please post your recipe in the recipe section. Pretty please!

I am using my IP to do steel cut oatmeal, hard cooked eggs and rice. Iíve also made delicious blackeyed oeas. But is hard for me to get too enthusiastic about heavier food right now. Basically Iím liking sandwiches and grilled stuff.

I will make my annual (sometimes more) huge batches of beef and mushroom stew and spaghetti meat sauce (also loaded with mushrooms) as soon as it gets cold enough. I put quarts of each in the deep freeze.

However, that may not be until November!

I also make a lot of hearty soups and freeze them too.

Chili, stews, soups...I love fall/winter cooking, and I freeze them.

Oh, and DH is asking about Sloppy Joes, too, lol.
