Salmon. Lots of salmon. Not that it's bad but the cost. The cost may be cheap in the long run. It might be many dollars less than the cost of heart trouble.
You need to move to the PNW, spend $35,000 on a salmon boat and go fishing and maybe catch a salmon or two. There is literally nothing like fresh caught barbequed salmon. I'm drooling just thinking about it!
But you can buy a lot of salmon for that kind of scratch.
Nothing. Feeling guilty about an occasional splurge is a waste of time, effort that could be better spent thinking of things to make that are both healthy and tasty.
I feel guilty about everything I eat because I know I need to lose weight. And of course, eating homemade blue cheese dressing (just the dressing from the bowl) and Round Table pizza probably isn't helping me to lose anything.
I had planned to get one of my yearly vices and I know I'll feel terribly guilty about that because it's both expensive and unhealthy, but soooo good. The little airport diner here makes the absolutely best fish in the world. Funny thing, it's hard to find good fried fish in the PNW. Here everyone bakes it with coating. Yuk.
I'm used to battered deep fat fried fish that crunches when you bite into it and this little diner just makes the fish to perfection. I used to get about 20 to 25 pieces at a time so I could eat it over five or so meals. But now that fish has gone up to $4 per piece. So when I should be saving money, do I really want to spend that much on just fried fish? Um, yeah, I do. I shouldn't, but I want to! Hence the guilt...
I used to feel that way, and I also used to be a lot heavier than I am now.
Now I enjoy everything I eat but I do watch the quantity. A splurge on cake just means I will eat less/healthier for another meal.
