Yogurt. I've tried various methods and never been happy with the results.

Pasta. Too much work.

Jam, ditto.

One that has been mentioned that I disagree with is mayonnaise. Homemade is so very easy and so much better.

Anything fried - french fries, egg rolls, whatever. I've never gotten the hang of frying and it's such a mess that it's easier to just go out and get it.

Obviously those of you who prefer bought pizza over homemade have never cooked it on a grill, especially if you cook it over wood chunks. Most bought pizza can't compare unless you go to a wood fired oven place. I'll admit we occasionally order delivery pizza but that's only when neither of us feel like cooking and can't agree on anything else.

I prefer a tempura meal out since I don't feel like having several pots of oil going so that everything gets done at the same time and is hot out of the fryer.

We make fondue meals at home, but I'd rather go to The Melting Pot simply because I don't have to do all the work involved in a multi-course fondue meal.

For me, I guess basically it comes down to whether or not I feel like like doing a bunch of work to get a finished meal or going out and buying it.

My BIL bought a yogurt maker and makes it on a regular basis. Way better than store bought.

The Instant Pot makes yogurt, and does a good job of it.

We buy the dough at our local Food City and use sauce that my wife buys in a squeeze bottle. Then we put our own vegetables, meat and cheese on it.
Cooks in the oven in about 17 minutes. I like doing it that way -- it's cheaper and we get what we want for toppings.
Sometimes we even use leftover chicken or beef on them.
I like them better than delivery or carry-out.

Given my recent overly garlicky attempt at hummus, I prefer the store bought stuff. For the record, I followed the recipe but the garlic I used must have been especially strong--way too much.

Now, what do I do with the rest of the tahini I bought?

Make it again but use less garlic?

I don't fry anything at home so fried chicken is number one on my list (okay - maybe number #2 after a crunchy onion ring)

I have never attempted a cracker (although I was very impressed when I watched contestants on 'The Great British Baking Show' and was very impressed)

A crusty French baguette

Tortillas

Sfogliatella

Apple strudel
