This is a nice story that I heard on the news. A church sponsored a refugee family from Syria, and at some point, the grateful family invited their supporters over to dinner, at which point it began clear that the mother, Mayada Anjari, was a fabulous cook. So they arranged that she would start cooking for church suppers. And now they helped get a cookbook published - for which, as she said, she's grateful to be earning any money toward keeping her family.

The cookbook stemmed from sold-out dinners Mayada Anjari held at an UWS church.

It's interesting that you should put it that way. I think that a dinner party, at its best, is sort of the core of civilization.
