I only just saw the pumpkin rolls this year. They certainly looked enticing. I make a mean jelly roll now and then and could probably be convinced to try to produce a pumpkin roll.
The family wants plain old pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving but I've been cheating trying to find something that's tasty to me too. There are only four of us anymore so I don't care to make a whole other pie for myself. I've tried pumpkin tarts with cranberries and nuts and pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust and a maple glaze. It's no use. They still want pumpkin pie and I can still taste the squash taste.
If I have to eat a sliver at least I do have a good recipe for the pie. It uses sweetened condensed milk instead of whatever and it's rich and creamy. Betty Crocker.
