Creamy pumpkin soup - served in a hollowed out pumpkin. Don't cut the face out for obvious reasons. Use a sharpie to draw the face.

I have a recipe if you need.

Pumpkin Fettuccine or lasagna.

Caramel Apple sheet cake.

Spiked apple cider punch.

Stick a bunch of string cheese ghosts and mandarin oranges jack-o-lanterns in a bowl on a generous bed of goldfish crackers to hold the ghosts up vertically.

How about dirt cake? You can put gummy worms in it.

I'm not a vegan but I don't eat red meat or poultry. When my kids were young I made a HUGE pot of chili - actually several Crock pots - that was very, very, similar to this. We would munch on it, and the kids and their friends would drop their bags of candy off, eat, and get new pillow cases to fill.

As they got older, we started having an adult costume party for the parents of my kid's friends and others. We had cider and doughnuts for desert, and a I made the apple caramel sheet cake.

The kids still make a version of this chili called "From Hell". It's wicked good, but I needed a lot of Vermont cheddar corn bread to balance out the bite.

The pumpkin soup is insanely easy and offers a creamy relief from the hellishly hot chili.

Now Barretta has made me want to have a Halloween party next year!

Sheena,

I am going to need the Vermont cheddar corn bread, apple caramel sheet cake and pumpkin soup recipes please!

You can still have a Halloween party this year, just make it on a small scale. Do a large one next year!

All - Thank you for all the great ideas! Have a Happy Halloween!
