Maybe I'm nuts, but I view a voluntary recall as a positive thing. I'd rather They announce a recall than try to slide the goods by and keep selling them. (There was a peanut butter manufacturer who did that just a few years ago.) I appreciate it when grocers clear the stuff off their shelves QUICKLY.

Heck, we've had recalls on Pepperidge Farm fishies and Kellogs Cereals quite recently.

Jkgourmet:

On Food Recalls, PREVENTION is the key, I agree with you, Pull the possible tainted food before things really go bad.

Given I don't purchase any of the items recalled, I'm good. Good post though.

Kroger has over 60,000 items in the store
this is a very very small% that most customers dont buy

I dont do salads

but meals to go I may take home and I will warm up over 165 degrees killing all bacteria

ironically part of the reason these stores dont make their own on site....its not just labor...but its so they can point the finger to their suppliers .and not be liable...

go to stores that are not chains....that make their own meals to go on site..
I eat lunches everyday at small independent iga grocery stores....cooked chicken parts one of my favs......not so much as an upset stomach in 25 yrs
