The OP wants to know how to nuke leftover spaghetti because his mother isn’t home to do it. I don’t think he’s concerned about ‘al dente’.

Start with 1 minute and if that's not hot enough, keep heating it for 30 seconds longer until it is.

Come on - the OP sounds like a teenager! He/she just wants it warm enough to eat - they aren't concerned about al dente pasta.

This so called kid, says in other posts that he was valedictorian of his high school. He can't figure out how to reheat spaghetti in a microwave without his mom?
Hmmm.....

Fair enough. But maybe he or she is open to learning something new? Expanding one's horizons promotes confidence and contributes to independence. Even if it's just spaghetti.

I have always found that putting it in either a plastic bag or bowl with hottest water out of the tap and letting it set for a couple minutes works best for me. Of course if I am using sauce I heat that in the Microwave.

Hey, if this thread is going to go off the rails anyway may I suggest:
wrap the pasta (with or without sauce) in foil, place it on the intact manifold of your vehicle, drive to your favorite fast food store, buy a soft drink and then drive to a park with a nice view. Retrieve the foil wrapped pasta from your engine and enjoy both the food and the view. I'm sure it'll still be 'al dente'.
or just nuke it. Bon Appetit.

45 minutes in the microwave at full blast should do.
