All pretty much the same! And I would always opt for bigger! Mine makes great ice cream but it's gone too fast!

I'm torn between the 1.5 quart Cuisinart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, Sorbet Maker….

…and others…
-- the Rival 4 qt
-- Hamilton Beach 4 qt
-- Nostalgia Electric 4 qt
…or even the 1.5 quart of those brands.

I'll research the Cuisinart more…if it actually has settings for sorbet and frozen yogurt….it might be worth it…versus using "just" as ice cream maker and trying figure out how to use it and how long to freeze it, and trying to make it work.

I use an attachment on my Kitchenaid mixer--no need for a separate ice cream maker.

Default Ice cream makers

I thought to ask this after reading the thread about how best to use fresh produce. I love fruit ice cream and sorbet, but I don't have an ice cream maker and would really like to get one eventually. What brand/type do any of you guys have and what do you think of it?

I have a KitchenAid and have seen the ice cream maker attachment, which would be simplest for me, but it doesn't get very good reviews.

I'm also open to low-tech, non-machine options if you have knowledge I lack.

Cuisinart usually gets top ratings among popularly priced ice cream machines.

I have never used this machine, but it is the one I would buy. An ice cream maker is something I simply cannot have in the house, or I would weigh 300 pounds. There are better or more expensive models, of course.

I would never buy anything by KitchenAid again. Their blender melted where the jar meets the base while I was making hummus, and they wanted $25 for a box in which I could send it back to them. They wouldn't let me use the original container, which I still had.

I am not happy with my Kitchen Aid ice cream attachment.
Best ice cream maker ai have ever used was a White Mountain with a wood bucket and a hand crank.

We have the Kitchen Aid. I have no complaints, but we don't make ice cream often.
