Maybe some European cd posters will be glad to review your list...
Really; did you mean to "treat yourself" quite THAT well???

We like Collin Street and feel the quality is still good. We also like Pittman and Davis for their grapefruit and oranges from South Texas. They have free postage on some of the orders.

What??

You're saying I didn't mean to treat myself that well, meaning paying postage from Europe? Right, there are too many places here where I might even get free shipping.

When I said treat myself, I didn't mean hundreds of dollars of items. Just enough to help stretch a Christmas Eve meal, or appetizers for Christmas, since I'll be by myself. It's nice to have foods you don't cook, at times.

Right. I, too, will be buying myself some treats, but not breaking the bank (as much as I would like to).

This site has imported food, but many at a discounted price: https://www.internationalfoodshop.co...tions/specials

Wondering what store I should try out this year....
I know you're looking for mail order & you got really good suggestions, but if you get down to Greenville, check Aldi and Lidl. They both have some really nice stuff. A woman on the Philadelphia board was saying that she picked up stuff at a Lidl in Maryland for gifts, already, & has done the same at Aldi in the past. Aldi has some popcorn tins that are incredibly good. At $7.99 it's not really cheap, but the toppings are that thick stuff that's atrociously priced nowadays.

I love Aldi, had one in the last city I lived in....where I am now it'd be Hendersonville or Greenville.

Thanks, might make it down there!

Lidl is back to constructing & opening stores. The Philadelphia area gets their first next week. We were having a discussion about it. I was the only one with proximity to a Lidl. The woman gave a big thumbs up to both for gifts. Hopefully you can get a Lidl closer than Greenville, by next Christmas. There are two in Spartanburg, if that would be closer.

Really? I remember them disappearing from Jersey before I moved, and I haven't seen one in the 7 years since I moved to Colorado. They have jars of EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH that they are selling. Yeah, I can go get a roll at the grocery store if I want that particular indulgence, but they look really good.

I told my friend to buy me a jar of each flavor as well as a bigger muumuu for Christmas.

Swiss Colony, Figi's and Hickory Farms were once good. Now, very mediocre. The sizes of everything are tiny. And the quality - meh.

I'm not sure if my tastes have become more discriminating or their food has become worse - or a combination of both.

These days, I like Harry and David, Zabar's and Wolferman's.
