Relatively cold day here in Northern California, some turkey a la king over Uncke Benís Converted rice is planned for dinner.

Braunschweiger, smoked deer sausage, BBQ elk steak cubes
mixed crackers and baguettes
cranberry white cheddar, blueberry Stilton
mixed nuts
chokecherry jelly and honey
gherkins, refrigerator kosher dills and pickled cherries

Our dinner will likely be beef ribs and grazing of all the yummy leftover treasures we have in the fridge from the last couple of days. I am not sorry about it at all.

The husband is roasting a goose today. Here he has it rubbed with lemon zest and what not.


He is making colcannon potatoes to go with it. I am roasting brussel sprouts.

Hubby smoked a turkey. He didn't realize it was so cold outside (down in the single digits today) but the turkey still turned out great! We also made homemade mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. A good start to a healthy new year, I'm so over all the junk food we've been eating the past two weeks.
