Hi, all! I was finally able to access photos today -- rather long and convoluted process, but it worked!

I'm still in Derby UK with my class and travel partner. Sunday night we went to a Thai restaurant (Thai Boran) and it was fantastic. I had the massaman curry, which I'd never heard of but which was absolutely delicious ...

Then last night -- Monday night -- we went to a restaurant called Cosy Club. I had roast chicken and it was quite good as well, although couldn't beat Sunday's curry. The presentation was quite lovely ...

Tonight I am just getting a pizza from the on-site restaurant -- too tired to do much else. If they have daiquiris I may get one of those too. Tomorrow morning we are headed back to London via train (love UK trains!). My students and travel partner will do the hop-on, hop-off tour -- my damaged knee will not allow me to do it. Then we have our farewell dinner, then a free evening, then we'll fly back to the U.S. on Thursday. The trip has overall been wonderful, I just haven't been able to do much outside of the academic "stuff." I will be happy to get home ...

karen, thanks for sharing your trip experience with us. That food loves marvelous and tasty, especially the curry.

Tonight we are having crab-stuffed avocados, grilled halibut, corn on the cob and smashed potatoes.

Some of my braised beef & mushroom stew I made before the kid was born - I have a deep freeze in the garage which keeps things fresh for a long time.

Will serve as always with French bread. Simple green salad or German spinach for veg.

My beautiful blessing is 17 weeks old today! She will enjoy some celebratory milk for dinner.

Oh my gosh, she is beautiful! Your dinner sounds great too, but your baby is a delight.

Debsi, little Margot is very beautiful. She looks like a very happy baby too. Your stew sounds very tasty.

Sort of a carbonara with prosciutto and American bacon. A bit of a different method of cooking that pretty much eliminates the chance of getting scrambled eggs.

A really great salad. I made a big bowl of it and I may eat the whole thing!

I had a late and long lunch this afternoon at the Hubbell House restaurant near Rochester, MN with three lifelong friends. The companionship was as good as the food. My meal was blackened sirloin steak salad with tomato, cucumber, hard boiled egg and blue cheese served with garlic toast. The friends had a Reuben, beef tips and mushrooms on wild rice and taco salad.

We all started our meal with the restaurant's signature French-fried onion rings which have a crisp, light and flaky coating.

I talked so much that I ended up bringing home as much as I ate so DH got in on the treat, too. That is half my meal but not my dessert which was homemade, hand-dipped chocolate pecan "turtles" from the candy store across the street. My grade school "sweetheart" bought those for me and an even larger package of assorted ones for his grown-up sweetheart.
