Just know that if you buy "fresh" shrimp in your grocery, they have been previously frozen. I put them directly into the freezer unless I'm using them immediately....then I thaw them under cold water and cook immediately. Shrimp will "go bad" quickly.
Any seafood especially shelled ones go bad just over an hour at room temps without covering or ice. Germs and worms easily grow in seafood at room temp. If you don't cover or keep refrigerated you have good chance of getting tape worms or other parasites.
