Great. The lawyers are gonna make a ton of money with another class action suit. . .

Assuming the defect exists, why don't the manufacturers offer to repkace/repair? That's what happens with automobiles.

They'd probably like to. I don't know what happens once the lawyers get their hands on it. My son once got a $500 check from a class action. Seriously? Nothing really bad had happened to him. He wasn't maimed or anything.

This has really gotten out of hand.

The quality of those pressure cookers must have go down. I have pressure cooker for 18 years now, use it weekly and have no problems with it.
But my thing is simple, stovetop cooker without all the gimmicks. It works perfectly...

I just wonder, if they really explode that often, why there are thousands of great reviews on the net? I understand that % of them could be fake, but not all.
I suspect that those that exploded were not handled properly. Lots of people buy fancy gadgets and don't read the manuals.
Instant Pot has over 32K reviews with average 4.6 star.
Cuisinart has over 1.5K reviews with 4.3 stars
Maxi-Matic has fewer reviews and only about 4 stars (depends what model) ...

No reason for phobia. Just make sure you KNOW how this thing works and handle it according to the manual.

I bought a pressure cooker a yr ago..

the manual was 80 % "safety precautions" mostly about steam will be released...and can be dangerous..

I bring my pressure cooker outside and then hit the valve to release the pressure with a long
fork ….

I don't take mine outside cause I am so clumsy I would drop it or something but I am very careful and when I do open it I do it very slowly with a long fork or whatever. So far, there have been no problems

Seems like if you let the pressure release naturally and don't rush it there's little danger.
