Sounds gross, chick peas with tahini and garlic with chocolate.

Just a guess but I imagine that the garlic is left out.

I like MOST hummus, but I am not big on mixing flavors like this, but I would at least try it. Just an aside. Hummus is marketed as a "healthy" snack or as part of a meal. Yes, technically, most of the ingredients are healthy, but the calories are off the charts. It is something to be consumed in small amounts if you care about your weight.

So mashed chick pea beans with chocolate sounds good to you?

Adding chocolate to a savory food is not normal. Are you gonna eat a chocolate ham sandwich or chocolate baby back ribs?

I would try it, but I doubt I would buy it, even if it tasted great. If I am going to splurge calories on a chocolate treat, I may as well go for the real thing.

I have a chocolate balsamic vinegar and it is out of this world. I put it on salads or fish dishes with blood orange olive oil.

Have you ever tried chocolate flavored Halavah? Yum, yum!!! But it's extremely high in calories so I only indulge occasionally. Years ago, my mother would get it for me as a special treat.

Otherwise, not really much of a chocolate fan.

Where did you find it, Lubby? Would love to try. I haven't seen that in any of the middle-eastern stores or restaurants locally. Knowing how that part of the world makes sandwiches with chocolate spread, I not surprised.

I just came back from a trip where we dined at a Lebonese restaurant. They had all kinds of hummus on the menu, including some "desert" style ones, but no chocolate.

I add cocoa powder to my chili all the time. Ever had a chocolate mole sauce? Outstanding.

Perhaps this can also provide a number of ideas to shock and amaze:

Yep, standard in Mexican cooking. Chocolate is not sweet, it needs sugar added to it to become a "dessert" flavoring.

I've had chocolate with chilies and chocolate with bacon, not related but sweet is candied bacon.

My GF made a SPAM coconut cake, and it was darn good.
