I think frying them in butter will use alot more butter, than spreading butter on a toasted one, so I will pass, I really already enjoy them, toasted & crispy. But if I had no toaster, I might dry it.

One of the great ironies is that in England muffins are almost completely unheard of.

I always use Bays. I toast them lightly in a skillet, then top them with a large, but very thin, slice of butter. I finish with a bit of Tiptree Damson, my current favorite.

Tomato juice, soft-boiled eggs, and an English Muffin make a fine light breakfast.
