Soaking the ham in water after it has been cooked sounds so gross.

I've never done it so it may be an excellent idea I've just never encountered that before.

It seems to me that it would just saturate the ham and make it a blob of mush.

Ham is one of those foods that comes out a year after freezing like the day you threw it in the freezer. Maybe it's all the salt.
