I bought some bagged frozen strawberries and bananas to snack on, but my problem is as soon as the bananas thaw they immediately turn black. I had the idea to divide into portions and vacuum seal, that way they could thaw without being exposed to air. Would that work?

The texture is not going to be like fresh bananas. Use it in a smoothie or in banana bread or pancake recipes when it would be smashed up anyway. Alternatively try dehydrating instead of freezing.

Bananas are better frozen when used for smoothies so I don't need to add additional ice. I would never eat a thawed one.

They are good, frozen. I like to slice them, & eat them, in their frozen state, instead of ice cream, on a hot day. Or with ice cream.
