The OP wanted something that tasted better than the instant coffees they had experience with, not worse. Nevermind the Massive buy-in, space hog, single use appliance.

I love Starbucks Via. When they first came out with it, they sampled it along with regular brewed coffee. I couldn't tell the difference in blind taste tests comparing them side to side.

Iím not going to spend a large amount of money (initial purchase and future pod purchase) for something I may use a few times a month. Also I cannot set it up where I work. I can get hot water from the contract coffee makers hot water spigot. That makes instant better and more affordable option.

I completely agree. I was on a trip with family where we went to several destinations and I turned up my nose at "instant" until we ended up in a place with no coffee maker and I decided to try Starbucks VIA.

The Starbucks VIA is as good a cup of coffee as I need. Certainly as good as any fresh brewed ground from beans coffee I make at home.

Nothing, whatsoever, like that awful Tasters Choice of a generation ago.

Not sure, but generic brands of instant coffee can be pretty awful.

Agreed with this. I drink instant coffee often and donít mind it at all. In my experience, instant produces a middling range of coffee, generally not memorable but okay. I like the quickness and ease of it, which is very helpful pre-work or during a mid-morning break. Some folks will only drink top of the line brew, and thatís okay. YMMV.

That looks good, but I have only ever seen the Folgers at my grocers.
